Clearcover Celebrates Our Interns on National Intern Day
At Clearcover, we find value in the perspective of each employee working towards our goal of providing better coverage for less - including the group of 11 interns we have brought onto our team this summer. The way we see it, our interns help us to invest in understanding new perspectives from those who are just beginning to explore their career interests and put what they’ve learned into practice.
This summer, Clearcover recruited interns from many different locations, educational backgrounds, and professional interests. Each has a unique goal they are working towards, and Clearcover wants to empower these interns to gain hands-on experience and grow in the ways they hope to by working for Clearcover.
HR coordinator Ally Chavez has been working with our interns all summer, guiding the group as they are introduced to the culture at Clearcover. A former intern herself, Ally has used her firsthand experience to develop a meaningful and robust program that sets interns up for success.
Our interns work across several departments at Clearcover - these include the Marketing, Legal and Compliance, Engineering, Growth, and Customer Experience teams. While each intern works hand-in-hand with members of their specific department, Ally serves as a point of contact throughout their experience, hosting bi-weekly meetings with the group of interns.
“I would check in with interns every other Thursday to see if they needed anything from me,” she said. “During these meetings we asked our interns to give a presentation about something that interests them so that they could get to know each other better.”
Outside of their day-to-day responsibilities for their specific department, the interns focus on professional development by participating in mock interviews, practicing their public speaking skills, and attending various workshops organized by full-time employees.
“As the summer is coming to an end, each intern will share a presentation about their internship to their managers and the senior leadership team,” Ally added.

Intern to Full-Time Hire
Ultimately, Clearcover’s program is designed to help our interns gain experience and grow professionally so that they may be hired full-time one day. To date, five former interns have joined our team as full-time employees, and the number will continue to grow as new interns impress our leadership.
Jihan Reksodiputro interned for Clearcover throughout college, working alongside the Brand team as they curated Clearcover’s social media. Now, Jihan is our social media coordinator based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“Through my time as a Social Media Intern, I quickly learned how to multitask, re-prioritize, and be confident in my own decisions,” she said. “I was given the opportunity to run Clearcover’s social media accounts as a college student and felt like I learned more about branding and social media in my time at Clearcover than I have in the classroom. I showed a willingness to constantly improve and better myself, and was proactive in accepting more responsibility, which is what I think helped me get to where I am today.”
In retrospect, Jihan knows that her hands-on internship experience set her up for success when it came to securing a full-time position at Clearcover. There are a few things that she believes can set an intern apart and help them achieve their career goals in the future:
1. Ask lots of questions
“If you’re confused or unsure about something, don’t be scared to ask as many questions as you need.”
2. Make sure you’re noticed
“You don’t have to hold company-wide presentations every week, but be sure to step outside of your department and establish your reputation. You can participate in company-wide channels, do an informational interview with someone from a different department, or even attend a company lunch.”
3. Be proactive
“See how you can offer additional value as an intern. If there’s work that you think needs to be done, try starting on it yourself as a side project and pitch it to your supervisor!”
If you’re eager to learn, a self-starter, and a flexible worker, Clearcover is the place to apply for an internship.
Are you interested in participating in an internship in one of our various departments? We begin taking applicants at the beginning of the calendar year. Candidates are encouraged to apply to a specific department(s) that interests them. There may be certain requirements for some internship positions, though not for all openings.
