Women in Insurance and Technology: Celebrating Women's History Month
Throughout March, Clearcover’s Women in Insurance and Technology (WIIT) Employee Resource Group went all out to celebrate 2024 Women's History Month with a jam-packed schedule of events to inspire and empower the women in our industry.
To kick off the month, WIIT attended 1871’s International Women's Day event, which featured an impactful presentation from keynote speaker Jaime Faulkner, president of Business Operations of the Chicago Blackhawks. Her powerful words left us feeling motivated and ready to conquer any challenges that come our way.
Next, in line with this year’s International Women's Day theme of “Inspiring Inclusion,” WIIT hosted an engaging and emotional panel discussion featuring unique perspectives from Clearcover employees. Among the panelists were Mark Valleskey and Jerry Claghorn, who both shared the personal actions they take to inspire the women in their lives and promote inclusivity, particularly in raising their daughters. We were also fortunate to have panelists Michelle Cobos, Sharon Henzler, Tara Cleary, and Jessica Smith, who recounted their experiences as strong leaders, discussing how to overcome career barriers and strive to empower the women around them.
Finally, WIIT participated in NPower's Words of Wisdom virtual volunteering event. The gathering focused on the goal of empowering young women and military veterans and helping them navigate their way into the tech industry. Our WIIT members engaged in small discussions with the NPower group, sharing their own career experiences and leaving the participants excited about their future opportunities.
WIIT’s mission is to elevate the women in insurance and technology at Clearcover. By hosting and participating in these events, we hope that all individuals benefit from a supportive and collaborative environment that fosters both personal and professional growth. We're here to champion and empower all women in our industry because we believe that together, we can achieve great things.
