Clearcover's Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Council

Clearcover values the vast array of backgrounds and viewpoints that our team members bring to the workplace.  We know that the greater the variety of ideas and opinions that Clearcover-ers contribute to their projects, the more opportunities our company has for innovation and future successes.  We also recognize that the potential for the sharing of ideas is optimized only when every single team member feels comfortable showing up as their full selves.  In order to create an environment where all employees feel heard and respected, Clearcover formed the Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Council (EIDC).  The mission of the EIDC is to ensure that all Clearcover-ers can be their complete selves at work and feel comfortable contributing to their greatest potential. 

Following our people-first culture's commitment to transparent, two-way communication, the EIDC constantly polls employees to create efforts and initiatives that recognize, celebrate and educate others on all types of individuals and communities.  All employees are invited to contribute by planning, executing and participating in EIDC events.

In addition, the EIDC spearheaded the formation of Employee Resource Groups which empower employees to create communities with others who have similar interests in order to foster a sense of belonging.  Presently, employees have formed groups for working parents at Clearcover, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and more.  Each group has a dedicated company-wide Slack channel in which members share thoughts and ideas and schedule internal meet-ups.

At Clearcover, we are committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in our workplace. As part of this commitment, our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) take the initiative to plan observation months throughout the year, including Pride Month. We are excited to share that our Sage Solace ERG, which stands for Sexuality and Gender Equality in a Safe Space, has organized a series of engaging activities to celebrate the spirit of pride in a meaningful way.

At the conclusion of his job search last summer, Customer Advocacy Supervisor Joseph Cox received offers at various salary points.  But for Joseph, like so many other job seekers, salary was not the final factor in his decision.  Instead, Clearcover's perks and benefits ultimately led him to accept his current role.  Recently, after several months as a Clearcover-er, Joseph wrote a LinkedIn post about how Clearcover's perks led to his decision to join our team.

Since Clearcover's Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Council (EIDC) launched Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) last year, Clearcover-ers across departments have created and joined spaces where they can interact with team members who share their common backgrounds or interests.  The groups' Slack channels, which are open to anyone in the company, have quickly become sites of shared stories and photos, requests for advice, offers of support, and virtual large and small group meet-ups.  Parents, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and women at Clearcover had all formed their own ERG's when Claims Manager Jerrell West recognized an opportunity for African American Clearcover-ers to have their own community.
