Focus Fridays: Clearcover Guarantees Flexibility for Our Employees

At Clearcover, we recognize that mentally healthy employees are happier, more satisfied, and more productive.  To ensure that we support the mental health and happiness of all employees, we’ve taken initiatives across several areas including flexibility

Along with flexible schedules, extra holidays, and unlimited vacation, we instituted a 4-day workweek during the months of July, August, and September.  When summer came to an end, we wanted to keep the positive momentum of the 4-day work week going, so we developed a “better-er” way of thinking about the final day of the workweek: Focus Friday.

The feedback from our 4-day work week over the summer was overwhelmingly positive with 75% of employees reporting that they were more productive.  Some of our working parents specifically mentioned the flexibility that came with the four 4-day work week as one of the best things about working at Clearcover. 

“The 4-day workweek is a blessing,” said Sree Talluri, Director of Engineering.  “It allows me to have quality time with [my] kids and catch up on life and errands without ruining the entire weekend for the errands.”

However, like beach weather in Chicago, the 4-day workweek couldn’t last past Labor Day.  But with a majority of employees sharing Sree’s positive sentiments, we were determined to continue offering employees added flexibility at the end of the week. 

In September, we introduced Focus Fridays.

On Focus Fridays, Clearcover encourages employees to keep their calendars free from meetings to give them an opportunity to focus on what they need to accomplish.  Employees may also schedule personal appointments on Fridays.

As the week ends, Clearcover employees can take control of their schedules with the knowledge that they have uninterrupted time to focus on their most pressing tasks.  They can also take comfort in knowing that they can set their personal appointments without conflicts from last-minute meetings.

Offering additional flexibility is just another way that Clearcover continues to innovate our policies to further support the mental health and overall happiness of all of our employees.
