Clearcover Appreciates Our Employees - Today and All Year Round!

At Clearcover, we established our people-first culture to ensure employee happiness and to guarantee that all Clearcover-ers feel supported and heard by every level of leadership. Throughout our rapid growth and sudden pivot to a remote workforce two years ago, Clearcover employees constantly prove themselves to be flexible, dedicated and driven to succeed. Clearcover is only able to continue to grow and innovate through the efforts of the hundreds of talented individuals who make up our teams. In honor of National Employee Appreciation Day, we dedicated the month of March to thanking all of our employees and to highlighting those individuals who consistently embody our Leadership Principles and put forth exemplary efforts to the benefit of their projects and the company as a whole.

To kick off the month, all Clearcover-ers received video thank you messages from our Senior Executive Team: Kyle Nakatsuji, CEO / President, Derek Brigham, Chief Operating Officer, Adam Fischer, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Elliot Schad, Chief of Staff, Norman Smagley, Chief Finance Officer, Vandana Venkat, Chief Insurance Officer, Vikki Caruso, SVP of People, and Saumil Mehta, General Counsel. In their messages, each member of the Executive Team thanked employees for their dedication to their work and their commitments to growing the company, innovating our products, and providing our customers with the smartest, fastest auto insurance products available.

With the praise from senior leadership still resounding through the company, Clearcover-ers found out that they would receive a tangible benefit this month as well. Specifically, an edible one! One of our favorite perks since moving to a remote workforce is our monthly home delivery from Snack Nation. For Employee Appreciation Day, our March delivery was increased by $10 which meant even more jalapeno popcorn and Jake's Almonds to enjoy!

Finally, during the month of March, we were given an added incentive to recognize and appreciate each other. Throughout the year, all employees are encouraged to post in our company-wide #Praise Slack channel when they feel that a teammate or colleague has made a remarkable impact on a project or contribution to the company, and has embodied one or more of our Leadership Principles. As an added bonus, during March, all employees mentioned on the #Praise channel also received $5 to use at the Clearcover Swag Up Store to add to their collection of company gear. As a result, the #Praise channel received multiple posts daily throughout the month! The feed was full of recognition such as:

Clearcover's Perks Attract Job Seekers

At the conclusion of his job search last summer, Customer Advocacy Supervisor Joseph Cox received offers at various salary points. But for Joseph, like so many other job seekers, salary was not the final factor in his decision. Instead, Clearcover's perks and benefits ultimately led him to accept his current role. Recently, after several months as a Clearcover-er, Joseph wrote a LinkedIn post about how Clearcover's perks led to his decision to join our team.

Clearcover's Employee Resource Group: Clearcover African American Network

Since Clearcover's Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Council (EIDC) launched Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) last year, Clearcover-ers across departments have created and joined spaces where they can interact with team members who share their common backgrounds or interests. The groups' Slack channels, which are open to anyone in the company, have quickly become sites of shared stories and photos, requests for advice, offers of support, and virtual large and small group meet-ups. Parents, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and women at Clearcover had all formed their own ERG's when Claims Manager Jerrell West recognized an opportunity for African American Clearcover-ers to have their own community.

Supporting Men's Health This Movember

When Clearcover's CEO Kyle Nakatsuji challenged all team members to participate in our first Movember fundraiser last year, Clearcover-ers were quick to step up and raise money in a variety of ways including, of course, growing ever-more impressive moustaches. After exceeding our fundraising goal during our inaugural year, Clearcover once again participated in Movember to support a variety of men's health issues among them mental health, a subject at the center of Clearcover's culture, and men's cancer research which has an impactful meaning for several members of our team. During our month-long fundraising efforts, Clearcover-ers rallied together to give back at the onset of the holiday season and support one another along the way.

Women in Insurance and Technology: Supporting the Women of Clearcover

Earlier this year, several Clearcover-ers formed a new Employee Resource Group, "Women in Insurance and Technology" (WIIT), with the mission to create a community and provide support for those who identify as women at Clearcover. The group has pledged to provide awareness and inclusivity, resources for career development, and opportunities to engage with and support similar external communities. After several internal meetings, WIIT recently hosted their first company-wide event, a workshop titled "Overcoming Imposter Syndrome and Perfectionism."
